In the BBC coverage of the road cycling world championships, there was a (Jill Douglas) item on a proposal to introduce gender equality (in number of events, at least) to the cycling in the Olympics.  She had on both Pat McQuaid, and someone from British Cycling, both making largely positive noises about this.

To which I say "yay!"
